Brocomedia is a music and video production company based in Brighton, and this site is their portfolio website. When they approached me, all they had was a company logo, so the whole graphic look and feel of the site was very open. Two concepts were designed in which they really liked the second and chose it as their final look. You can see the first concept below.
The site was built in pure Flash and features a lot of rich media content such as custom built mp3 players (for over 80 songs!), streaming video, downloadable resources and animation.
A note on Flash
The future of Flash is uncertain with the rise of incompatible mobile devices such as iPad and iPhones, but still remains unparalleled in providing a rich, highly interactive and animated user experience. All my current sites that feature Flash components now have static HTML replacement files. This means that on an iPad, or any browser without the Flash plug-in, the user is none-the-wiser, and is presented with simpler version that will work on their phone, tablet and the range of new and interesting ways of connecting to the internet that will no doubt be invented in the years to come.
